Don't settle for the audit program you already have. Sure, it checks the box, but how much value is it truly bringing?
When it's done right, quality audits can be management's best tool to really know what's going on in an operation and fulfill its real intent which is continual improvement.
Internal audits are required by most quality standards and many customers. We see a lot of companies try to meet this requirement using their own employees. It sounds great on paper to cross-train your people to do the audits, but we nearly always see that the juice is not worth the squeeze. Here's what you end up with... you hired your employee for a specific job, so having them spend time auditing is not bringing their full value. Plus, they are going to be auditing their friends and co-workers that they have to face in the break room. (it's not impartial). In addition, if they don't enjoy auditing, they simply won't do it as well.
We are trained and certified Lead Auditors. So by using us you are getting auditors that are competent, impartial, and objective. Plus, we've been in the industry for decades, so we are able to approach the audit with practicality.
We pride ourselves in an auditing style that seeks compliance to the requirement, not findings! Anyone can find problems if they look hard enough. But a Cornerstone Audit will tell you what is working well and what may need to be improved. We audit the process, not the person. And we provide you with a detailed report, so you know exactly how the process is working, which is the point of the audit!
In order to maintain your certificate, you regularly need to undergo audits from 3rd parties. Those can be from the registrar that issued your certificate, your customer, or even the government contracting agency.
Cornerstone Systems maintain Probitas Certification as AS9100 Lead Auditors, and we know the ISO and Aerospace standards as well as those external auditors that are coming in to evaluate you. Not just what the standards say, but the intent and how to apply it. Would you dare to engage in litigation without your attorney? Of course not! Neither should you subject your people to external auditors without your own expert support.
We are very careful to not interfere in the audit process and we do not want you to ever have to rely on us or any consultant to get through an audit. But what we can do is help make sure that the audit stays on track. By having us hearing the audit conversations first-hand and witness the evidence for ourselves, we can not only help translate between the auditor's question and your evidence to show how you comply, or if you don't comply, we are already thinking though the corrective action plan to improve your system.
Your supplier selection process represents one of the largest risks to your operation. The success or failure of your suppliers has direct impact on your ability to meet your customer's needs. Because of this you must understand the risks involved with those critical suppliers that you depend on.
A great way to mitigate the risk of the supplier management process is to bring in an expert to evaluate them. Make sure that you go into your purchasing decisions with your eyes wide open by having us perform the evaluations on your critical suppliers.
Whether a new supplier that you are trying to get to know, or a legacy supplier that seems to struggle with quality and delivery, a Cornerstone Systems audit can reveal what you need to know about them so that you can plan accordingly.
